Umai-Ya @ Damansara

About a month ago, I dated my sister, Wen, to Izzi to have dinner. It’s said that Izzi give out up to 60% discount for certain credit card holders. We arrived there at 10.10pm to find the restaurant closed. I then called my friend Derek for help. He is excellent in finding places to dine! He recommended the restaurant beside Izzi, Umai-Ya.

I had a hard time getting into Umai-Ya, there were no people to entertain me and I actually thought that it was closed too. The entrance didn’t really look like one. Can you tell how to go in?

And finally, I didn’t expect the entrance could be so secretive. Wen and I managed to sneak in.

The environment is not bad at all! Looking at the menu, I can tell that the food price is definitely slightly higher than other Japanese restaurant. But hey, since it is highly recommended, I should give it a try! And frankly, I did not regret the experience at all.

Since I was on diet and my sister just had her dinner, we ordered the Salmon Shio Yaki Set and the Salmon Mayo Maki. We are obviously is a big fan of Salmon! *Salmon is high in protein.

Salmon Mayo Maki was definitely very GOOD!! It’s the best handroll I ate! Oh well, I guess I hardly ate handroll. There was this really crispy thing inside which makes the whole thing so nice to chew. Argh, I should not be blogging about this when I am damn hungry!

Food was served quite fast then. It only took them 5 minutes to serve all our dishes (which was only 2). My Salmon Shio Yaki Set was fantastic! I could not get off the salmon. I was so surprised that the salmon was so thick, and it was grilled just nice!

However, there was this side dish that we have no idea what it was. Wen said it tasted like chicken intestine and wanted to vomit it out. I sort of just swallow it without noticing the taste. I am guessing it is some beef or something. I don’t really know.

Oh, I am also happy that they served dragon fruits as side dish! I like restaurant that pays attention to minor details. The bill came up to about RM43.70 which is quite reasonable to me.
