Going mature, going brown

Judging by the title, you can't really tell what I am about to write. Well, this might disappoint some of the readers as I am going to be talking about "BAGS"!!

I have lots of bags, not that I have a lot to switch using with. I just do not throw the old ones away. Therefore, I guess I have ... a lot? Hmm... as I took out a piece of paper and started counting, to my relief, I had about like 5 bags, (excluding one clutch) still tolerable I guess.

I have always loved Lollipops bag. It was first introduced to me by my ex-colleague, Fannie. We were very close back then as she was working the same shift as mine. We talked about shoes, bags, clothes and boys all the time. We brought magazines to the office to share opinion on clothing as well. Then one day, her cousin sister introduced her to Lollipops. As she saw the brand, she already knew I would love it.

The bags are mostly hand made and have limited quantity. It is not as common as Guess? bags in the society. The bags are all very cute! Therefore, I went to the only Lollipops outlet in Bangsar Village 2 back then to get my first Lollipops bag. The bag had a name, it was called Wonderland. The quality was not bad at all! The sewing of the thread were very refined. I loved it. One little problem was that the beads kept falling off my bag. Over all, it was fantastic! I had received so many compliments for the bag!

My Lollipops! The lollipop is not with the bag. I attached it for fun!

I thought I was not going to buy Lollipops again as the beads fell off. I was looking around for a new bag. Went to a lot of shops and look at a lot of bags. But I didn't like them. I still like the shape of the bags I was carrying. Then I stepped foot in the new outlet in Sunway Pyramid. I was holding the exactly same size bag. It was perfect, the length of the handle was just nice! And it felt right to carry it around. What's best about it was, it was brown! Just the colour I was looking for!

I was quite proud that I did not buy it on the spot. I walked out of the store and I evaluated whether I should buy it. After further considerations, I walked back in the shop again. The sales girl was happy to see me again. Just like the aunty I bought my Wonderland 2 years ago. The aunty was very nice. While I was not able to decide whether to buy such an expensive bag. She urged me to walk around first. "Don't make nasty decisions. Go have a walk and compare on the pricing first. If you like the bag, you will come back for it." She said.

I wonder that's a psychological thingy as she was trying to play hard to get. Hahah.. However, while I was doing sales, the most important thing was not to let your customer think too much. When one thinks too much, he will be unlikely to buy something. Furthermore, it is walking out the shop! The risk for not coming back to face her would be so much higher. Hmm.. I wonder why she does that?

I guess women need a few bags to switch around. Some went to the extreme where they played around the color of the bags with their outfit. In total, I guess working women need 3 bags and a dinner clutch at least. Women need one big bag for outing, one bag that can hold her shades, sun block, water bottle, tower, camera and etc. One middle size bag for normal outing like movies, hanging out with friends. The size of this bag is individual, some still prefer it big, some prefer it smaller. I personally like bowler bags!

For working women, they need a working bag of course! This bag should be of formal colors (eg. black, white or brown) to show professionalism. I don't have a working bag as I am not wearing very formal to work. But to show some maturity. I have forced myself to buy a brown bag!! Yeah!! Say hi to my new mark of maturity!

My new Lollipops (only without the lollipop)!

I guess it's not too bad huh?

How does Ebay works?

I thought Ebay is already very famous among us. However, I am quite startled when some told me that Ebay is just selling second hand goods and is not safe.

I have done a few purchase from Ebay, 6 to be precise, all arrived safely in my hands. *Fingers crossed* The purchases varies from little wallets to big size table lamp. I do enjoy when the receptionist called me out to collect my puzzle. It's like receiving a gift, only that the gift is from myself.

So, what do you do when you log into Ebay? Well, you need to have an account first. Register yourself an account and you can start your purchases. There are a few types of purchases. Most of them are in bidding form. You will have to place your bid and when the time ends, the bidder with the highest amount will win the bid. There is also a "buy it now" price. If you think the price is reasonable and you want it so badly. Just click on that, and the item is yours automatically!

Place a bid higher than the price shown. Let say, I put here US68.

After that, I need to confirm it. After clicking the "Confirm Bid" button, I shall get something like the below screen.

Yeah! I am the winner.

You shall see your winning bid in green.

But not for long.. *sob sob*

Apart from bidding and "Buy it now" price, there is also this "Best offer". The "Best offer" normally comes with "Buy it now" price. You can place your "Best offer" by clicking on it. The seller might not accept the offer. If he/she does, you shall receive something like the below.

Let's say the initial price is US79.90 and you think that it is a bit too expensive. So you click on the "Best offer" (provided it's available) and submit your highest offer. There might be a few people who make the offer. Therefore, the seller can choose who to sell too. However, it's not very popular.

Yeah, the seller accepted my offer!!

After you paid the item, you shall see the dollar sign in blue.

Ohoho, the above is the purse I am currently using. Including the shipping, it's about RM200++. Not bad right?

IMPORTANT:

One more important tip before placing a bid, you might need to ask for the shipping charge.

You might also want to check the seller's reputation as some unscippulous seller might be selling fake and old goods. Look through the comment of the seller. It's hard to fake a comment anyway.

Lastly, I would like to share some of my purchases from Ebay. It's really cool! Ohoho!

My E-shopping (1)

I have always like to shop. It started when I was doing my studies in MMU. I had a very good friend who will always bring me out for shopping. I always like shopping with her. She gave me a lot of ideas and I am still wearing some of the blouses and dresses I bought then.

Then, I started shopping alone. I guess I have fewer friends to shop with me nowadays. I felt it is not at all fun to shop alone. You cannot share when there is a buy 1 free1 promotion. You will listen to the salesgirls’ opinion and buy something you might not wear.

Since I am always facing the computer, I then learn to shop online. Initially, I felt that online shopping is insecure. I mean, after payment, you still have to wait several days for the item. You were not able to see it, not able to touch it. What if it is not like what you expected?

Being a risk taker, I explore a lot of online shopping websites. I first visited www.annyee.com. It is one of the first website I bought clothes from. However, the quality is not very good and I have actually stop buying clothes from them. I guess I still have a few tens of ringgit with them which I have not claim. Oh well, let's see when I have the time.

Some time ago, I started to like Ebay. Online shopping is not that insecure anyway. Ebay is quite a trusted site. I have made purchases for 6 times and all safely arrived.

My first purchase on Ebay was a Minnie mouse bag. I love the bag very much but the quality is really very bad. I used it for about a month and the color peels off. Then I either have thrown it or have put it aside back in my hometown. I then become very careful on my purchase.

My best purchase has to be the "Bedazzler". I always wanted to bedazzle my things. When my lollipops' gems are falling from the bag, it made me want to bedazzle my bag so much.

The Bedazzler tool (About RM60 exclude shipping)

Bedazzling my bag

Then my worst purchase is the table lamp. I don't really like IKEA table lamps as they are all yellow light and quite deem. There are these florescent light table lamps but there are not bright enough. Then this sunlight table lamp caught my attention. Without further a thought, I bought it.

I was testing the lamp with a adapter converter and it was really very bright. Then only to find that the lamp was actually twice as bright as it was supposed to be and then died after 10 minutes.

The lamp was actually using 120v while Malaysia is using 240v. How brilliant was I huh? I didn't even bother to know about this voltage thingy. My friend, Mee Syn, mentioned that there is some voltage transformer that I can use but too bad, the lamp is dead! *sob sob, there went my $$.* I think it cost about like RM100+ exclude shipping.

Bye lamp!

Moral of the story: Don't simply buy electronic goods from other countries.
